Block stones are the same raw blocks that are mined and these stones have regular polyhedral shapes that these have 4 or 6 sides.
Weight of travertine block stones:
Weight of block is from 25 tons to 6 or 7 tons. Block weigh 25 tons which can transport or lade with just one crane. Single blocks have different quality grades. The highest quality blocks to use in the domestic stone industry are different from foreign and export quality. When buying a block stone, you should specify your domestic use or exports use; because it affects the final price and quality. Block weigh 12 or 13 tons that are known as two blocks; and a trailer is used to lade and transport these stone, because these two blocks weigh about 25 tons, and the capacity of each car in terms of lading is 25 tons.
And other weight of block stones are 6 or 7 tons that these stones known as rubble stones and these stone can be lading 3 or 4 blocks in one trailer. These types of block are same three blocks, that are marked in the mines.
How cut travertine block ?
When the block stones are quarried from mines; If they have a four or six sides shape, so they turn into square or rectangular slabs according to the shape of block. Blocks that are irregular shape turn into tile stones that are smaller than slabs. Dimensions of tile stone are 30.30, 40.40, or 50.50.
Most of block stones that weigh 6 to 10 tons are turn into small stones.
